    What's Included With Your Stay

Access to the estate's shared facilities comes as part of staying at Winelands Golf Lodges. The swimming pool, the landscaped gardens and walking routes, and the estate's access-controlled grounds are all there for guests to use throughout their stay, and everything sits within walking distance of the lodges — you can move between the pool, a restaurant table and your own patio without moving your car.

Your lodge itself is designed to carry most of a day on its own. Each one is fully self-catering, with an equipped kitchen, an open-plan living area and a covered patio with a built-in braai, plus air conditioning, DSTV, high-speed Wi-Fi, an in-room safe and complimentary tea and coffee. Housekeeping refreshes the lodge daily, with a full clean and fresh linen every seven days on longer stays. The full list of what is provided is set out in our guest FAQ on lodge inclusions, and you can compare layouts across the one- to four-bedroom lodges.

Two extras are worth knowing about before you arrive. Every stay includes a complimentary wine tasting at Kleine Zalze on the estate, and lodge guests receive discounted Pro-Shop rates when booking tee times at the golf club. Spa treatments at CSpa, restaurant meals and golf are billed separately — the CSpa treatment menu and pricing shows what to expect before you book.

Using the Estate as a Base

Guests tend to fall into three patterns, and the facilities support all of them. Golfers build the day around a tee time, warming up at the driving range, chipping area and putting green and stopping at the Halfway House at the turn, open 07:30 to 15:30 daily. Non-golfers use the pool and the spa in the morning, then head into Stellenbosch — the town centre is about 3 km away, with more than 200 wine estates in the surrounding valleys. Families spread out: the estate is gated with 24-hour security, and the larger lodges give everyone their own room to retreat to.

Small working groups are also well served. The estate has a conference facility for up to 15 guests, which pairs naturally with lodges booked for the same group and with dinner at one of the three on-estate restaurants. Our reservations team can arrange the room alongside your accommodation rather than as a separate booking.

    Planning Around the Seasons

Stellenbosch's Mediterranean climate keeps golf playable year-round, so the estate stays useful in every month — the balance of what you use simply shifts. Summer, from November to March, is the busiest period and the one that pulls guests outdoors: pool afternoons, late braais on the patio and sundowners on the Sunset Terrace. April, May, September and October are the quiet months, with cooler air, thinner tee sheets and better availability.

Winter suits a different kind of stay. Days are shorter, the mountains hold cloud, and the draw becomes the indoor side of the estate: a long spa treatment, a wood-fired dinner, a fire and a bottle of local red in the lodge. Ask reservations about current seasonal rates if you're travelling between May and August.
